How to say your name in English

We all know the Starbucks experience.
You’re walking to the counter, gathering the courage to make an order,
and then comes the part of saying your name…
And you wonder to yourself – How badly would they mess my name up this time?

What is so difficult about your name that makes it so hard for (most) native English speakers to get it right? And is there something you can do about it?
(the answer is yes)

Today, I’m going to share with you why it is so difficult and how to change that.

  1. Hi Hadar, I challenge you to say the most difficult name in English – Nitzan.

    Can you help?

No clue how to teach the English speakers to say it…

    Thank you!

  2. Hi Hadar, this is a great idea!!!

My mane is Yael. In Canada very common they’d say Yale or GeL.

If I break it to 2 word Ya- El they usually get it, but it takes lit of effort to do so.

It is still a struggle with new people.

    Thanks so much!
