I asked 30K students what words they confused the most, here’s what they said

No matter what language you learn, you’re probably struggling sometimes with some words that sound or look just too similar to other words in that language. And English is by no means any different! Just think of confusing pairs like collar-color, sheet-shit, or through-thorough.

In this episode I discuss 8 of the most confusing pairs (or trios) in English. I collected this list from my own experience teaching, and also by asking members from my InFluency Community, my free speaking community for non-native speakers all around the world. Join us here!

  1. Her-Hair
  2. Word-World
  3. Can-Can’t
  4. Body-Buddy
  5. Where-Wear-Were
  6. Quit-Quite-Quiet
  7. Want-Won’t
  8. Tuesday-Thursday
